Bliazzard Black Pearl 98 Skis - Women's *2017-2018*: The Black Pearl 98 is a new ski for Blizzard for the 2018 season and has been influenced by the success of the original Black Pearl, but updated with Blizzard’s new Women To Women concepts. The 98 in the title refers to the skis waist width of 98 mm. This is the widest out of the Black Pearl series and is great for women who want a ski that’s wide enough to take just about anywhere and even through deep snow, but still retains solid performance on groomed slopes and strong torsional stiffness (i.e. not a floppy, soft flexing powder ski). This new ski features a relatively short turn radius and a nice wide shovel that makes it an absolute blast to ski in just about any type of terrain. It’s in a whole different league in terms of maneuverability when compared to the Samba (the ski it’s essentially replacing), and ultimately is a higher performing, more versatile ski. Women’s Specific W.S.D. Carbon Flipcore keeps the ski really light, while still remaining strong and snappy thanks to the performance benefits of carbon. The rocker/camber/rocker profile initiates turns on groomed slopes easily and also gives the ski extra float and maneuverability in soft, deep snow, in addition to a touch more stability when skiing tracked out terrain.
