Enough float to let you on the deep days and crushes crud like nobody's business
While the Head Inferno 104 has a narrower waist than the Boneshaker and Kiss of Death, it's still just as oriented for expert terrain in powder snow and open bowls--just not the same in thigh-deep powder depths. Depending on the ski length that you choose, the waist width is just around 100 millimeters, so it gives you a tighter turn radius that appeals to some skiers in narrow chutes and other extreme challenges. The Inferno 104 features Head's Flow Rise camber profile. You'll find more rise in the tip than in the tail, giving the ski plenty of floatation and maneuverability in powder snow, but the tail won't shake you loose on big landings. Head used a traditional camber shape through the middle of the ski to accentuate the edge hold and improve transitions between turns on groomed or hardpack snow. Like the Kiss of Death and Boneshaker, the Inferno 104 has Head's sandwich twin-tip construction with reinforced ABS sidewalls for excellent durability. If you really need a narrower backcountry ski but you don't want to completely compromise powder floatation, check out Head's Rock n Roll 94 skis.
